the hour awaits [7.19.11]

Fourteen hours until I'm in the air.

Once upon a time, a 23-year old didn't know what to do with his life. And that's when he made what some would like to call one of the biggest mistakes, while I would consider it to be one of the best decisions, that he's ever made: he asked God what to do. Now in any certain words did God say "go to Africa for 3.5 months"? No, he can't recall hearing those words. But as he struggled to find the answer to his question, God did lead him to that very decision. Not so much even for the fact that Africa needed him for 3.5 months, but that he needed Africa for 3.5 months. //

Life has been so chaotic lately in trying to pack up my life for roughly the next 4 months as I set out to Lusaka. And if you know me even the slightest bit, you know that I'm a big-time fan of that old procrastinating. So that has made the last 3 weeks completely crazy, but I wouldn't change a single minute of it. I am so excited to meet the team tomorrow and make our way back to Lusaka, the place that I fell in love with last year. But if truth be told, I don't think it has set in that I'm not coming back with the team after 3 weeks. Instead I'll have another 12 weeks at the hospital! Ah! I'm pumped about it. Just the thought of being there in about 50 hours makes my heart want to explode!

Sadly though, it is getting to be late and some of these last 14 hours on the continent need to be spent in sleep. Stay tuned for blogs about the happenings that will be taking place as I do life with the people in Zambia over these next few months. I will try my hardest to post stories whenever possible! Take care and "have fun" (this one's for you Kurt Gray).
