Well, the long lay overs and horrible sleep on the flights were worth it - the team and I are in Zambia at the Beit Cure Hospital. The feeling of getting off the plane was amazing, just to be able to put our feet on the ground and know that we were in Africa, some of us for the first time and some of us for the second. But with our lack of sleep, we weren't of much use yesterday. I don't think I've ever considered bed so early. I think it was 7pm (Zambian time) and all I wanted to do was to curl up under my mosquitoe net and sleep and sleep and sleep. So that's exactly what I did. Haha. Adjusting to the time on top of the two days of travel completely wore me out!
But today is a new day! It's 2:30 in the afternoon over here and we've already got so many things accomplished! This year one of the projects that the Go Team funded was completely painting the Children's Ward to brighten up the walls. So with the help of some of the hospital staff, we stripped the area and gave it a facelift! Lesley or I will post some before and after pictures here soon! There is so much life in the ward now, so I can't wait for the children to be able to move back in tomorrow!
That's all for now. The team and I are going to go play frisbee and soccer with some of the children until we have a meeting for our outreach to Mpongwe! Ahhhh I'm so excited to go back there!
and we will follow and offer this life forever
to see Your love unfold
